I am a first generation native Californian, born in downtown Los Angeles. Coming from a creative family of two British parents, my mother was a chorus line dancer in London, England, danced in many musicals, including entertaining the troops in World War II. My father, John Tomson, was a playwright, producer of musicals, director, and had a twin brother, they both were also professional dancers.

I have always enjoyed art. When I was a young girl I used to do my numerous drawings and doodles lying flat on my back underneath our living room coffee table. It wasn't until there was a fire, where my mother took the table to be repaired, that the drawings on the underside became discovered.

I lived in Los Angeles, San Diego, Menlo Park, Seattle and moved to Nashville in 1993. A graduate from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, I started my own company called Jag Graphics in downtown San Diego. My miniature canvases led themselves to the small medium of greeting card illustration. During the 10 years of business, greeting cards were sold across the country from showrooms in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Dallas. The cards were featured in Beverly Hills Neiman Marcus, Camp Beverly Hills, Federated Department Stores, Horchow Catalogue, Marshall Field’s, Bloomingdales, and the Tate Museum in London, England. Princess Michael of Kent being an avid gardener, had a collection of my floral and garden notepaper. I designed for other various companies including jewelry for a San Diego company, and frames for Terragraphics based in San Francisco. Eileen Tomson Design has been in various fund raising events, and was one of the featured artists for The Adelicia Design Tour where Eileen’s paintings were featured in one of the condos. Eileen was included in the 6 featured artists for Vanderbilt University's Art Bazaar at Sarratt Gallery Student Center, and the yearly Holiday Art Shows.
